I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve decided to learn coding. There were times when I took a month-long course and struggled to make something out of it. People say that after just one course, they can easily whip up a basic app, but I found it incredibly difficult just to get comfortable with the fundamentals. And so, time passed, and I gradually forgot what coding even was. Then, not long ago, I came across the concept of ‘Vibe Coding.

Start with Claude

’ve been introduced to quite a few ‘Vibecoding’ tools lately. While exploring options, I sought advice from Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude—and that’s when I realized Claude truly excels at this. Other generative AI models are capable of coding, but they always required me to manually copy and paste code back and forth.

So, I made a declaration to Claude: ‘From now on, let’s start our Vibecoding journey together.’ Claude responded with such enthusiasm. Yet, a sense of disconnection remains—a ‘Memento-like’ experience where the context fades with every new session. I know I should commit to a subscription, but since I haven’t been using it for a long time. I’m still hesitating.

Today’s Hair Glimpse

One of the ideas I’ve been nurturing is ‘Today’s Hair Glimpse.’ Whenever I visit a hair salon, I always struggle to explain exactly what I want, so I end up relying entirely on the stylist’s sense and skill. If I’m not happy with the result, I just stay silent and quietly search for a new place next time. This is especially stressful when I’ve just moved to a new area. Since hair doesn’t grow back quickly, a bad cut means a month of frustration—and often, it ends up costing double as I try to fix the mistake.

That’s when I thought: ‘Wouldn’t it be great to see what my hair would look like beforehand?’ Beyond just avoiding bad cuts, if an app could let me preview styles I’ve never dared to try, it would give me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone.

When I told Claude that this was the first project I wanted to tackle, its response was surprisingly simple and encouraging: ‘Just describe the screen layout and how you want it to work. I’ll build it for you right away.’ The ease of that interaction was exactly the kind of push I needed.
