‘New Beginning of Me’
“
They told me “don’t go that way,
what if it all goes wrong?”
“Stay grounded, be satisfied,
just live with what you have.”
So I listened to them and agreed
I thought small joys were life’s true wisdom
I tried to blend in, live an ordinary life
But You know what
Those little joys never felt like home
Today’s a new beginning, I’ll walk the path that’s mine.
No chains can hold me down, I’ll keep on moving on.
I tried to live their way, but it was never me.
Now I will follow the voice that’s rising deep within.
The world kept rushing forward,
I walked and never stopped.
But now I’m not just drifting,
I’ve found my way at last.
Through endless weary nights,
I found a strength I never knew.
Each breath, each step I take
has brought me here today.
Today’s a new beginning, I’ll walk the path that’s mine.
No chains can hold me down, I’ll keep on moving on.
The truth is we’re not the same—each has a road to take.
I’ll follow where my heart is calling me to go.
I’m not saying their way is wrong,
some live it and find their peace.
But difference makes them restless—
that’s why they tried to stop me.
Today’s a new beginning, I’ll walk the path that’s mine.
No chains can hold me down, I’ll keep on moving on.
I tried to live their way, but it was never me.
Now I will follow the voice that’s rising deep within..

Song Introduction : New Beginning of Me
I work hard at work and at school. I’ve made it through another day. It’s exhausting when the day ends, but there’s also a sense of pride in knowing I’ve lived through another one.
And yet… why does it feel like nothing is getting better? I’ve been following the path of others, thinking that living like everyone else is the right way to live, but why do I keep looking back?
Long ago, I had a dream. There was something I truly loved, something I was completely immersed in. I thought I would spend my entire life doing that work. But it seems that for others, it was a rather unique path that was hard to understand. Everyone kept telling me that if I lived like that, I’d eventually end up ruined.
Conflicted by those words, I thought, “Well, everyone else is living this way, so isn’t this the right path?” and ultimately, I gave in to their persuasion.
Living Life on My Own Terms
After living that life, I have finally returned to my true self, and I’m just now starting to feel a little bit happy. It’s tough and difficult, but I’ve found the joy in living. I only regret the time I spent losing my smile in the face of those two words—success and failure—whose definitions I could never quite grasp.
