I quit my job. It was time to start with the work I’d been preparing for. I wasn’t as realistically prepared as I planned, but an opportunity suddenly presented itself. I had to make a choice to seize it. My phone wouldn’t stop ringing. Friends kept asking me to meet up. As I grabbed a drink with friends who had just finished work, I barely had a chance to respond to their nagging. No one understood.
I’ll keep going at My own Pace
Heading home with a bit of buzz, my head is a mess. I didn’t they’d be this obliviou, honestly. If my own friends don’t get it, I’d better keep my mouth shut around others. I look up at the sky; the night is filled with twinkling stars. My heavy heart feels a little lighter. Somehow I feel like the stars are rooting for me. I’m going to stay the course.
